Common woodworking machines will be introduced and used to build a small chess-game coffee table, while further review and study of the woodworking, key concepts, and its related industry.

Unit 2, Act. 1: Chess Table Build 
Situation:
Now that students have had a chance to experience hand tools and working with wood, students can look at using wood machines to make another more complex project. This unit activity is large as the table project is involved, and therefore this section Unit will also include a lot of notes and support information to assist student learning.
Problem/Challenge:
Students will use all the hand tool techniques and wood working processes leaned in Unit 1 to apply to machines and build a common table with additional processes. This will be a chess table with different optional advanced legs and custom drawer if time, expertise, and ability are present.

General Information
Several machines will need to be introduced and safety contacts on all will be reviewed and signed by the student and the teacher. Process and steps will be reviewed in class as needed, in order to complete this chess coffee table.
